    Abstract

Disaccomodation, the decrease of initial permeability with time after demagnetization, was measured in the temperature range from -196°C to the Curie temperature for rapidly quenched amorphous Fe100-xPx (14 {slanted equal to or less-than} x {slanted equal to or less-than} 23) alloys. The disaccomodation exhibits a maximum at TDA (150-200°C) for all samples measured. The temperature TDA coincides with the temperature TR above which the free volume decreases. The origin of disaccomodation is discussed by taking into account the free volume involved inherently in the process of sample preparation.
