Abstract

The pressure variations of the magnetic property of amorphous La(Fe0.85Al0.15)13 alloy have been investigated by ac susceptibility measurements under high pressures up to 7.3 GPa, in the temperature range between 5 and 330 K. With increasing pressure, the Curie temperature decreased, and a new high-pressure magnetic phase came to appear in the low-temperature region below 50 K. Further increasing pressure, the ferromagnetic state disappeared and then the new high-pressure magnetic phase only remained. These pressure variations of the magnetic properties in amorphous La(Fe0.85Al0.15)13 alloy are quiet different from La(Fe0.85Al0.15)13 compound, but similar to those of Invar alloys.
