Disorder broadening of the acoustic branches in SixGe1-x mixed crystals

Abstract

The vibrational excitations of SixGe1-x crystals have been investigated using inelastic neutron scattering experiments. Local and resonant modes are observed. A strong broadening at high wave vectors is found for some transverse acoustic modes.
