Abstract
Barnacle larvae have essential roles in establishing populations and maintaining connectivity among them because the adults are sedentary. Barnacles inhabit most marine environments from estuaries and rocky intertidal habitats to the deep sea. They show diverse dispersal and settlement strategies to migrate to natal or distant habitats and select suitable sites to inhabit in each environment. In this article, the diverse larval dispersal and settlement strategies found in barnacles have been summarized.
