Abstract
The domain wall resistance was measured in an FePt wire with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. By the local heating with pulsed current through the wire, the magnetization in a notch of an FePt wire can be selectively reversed. As a result, two domain walls can be created in the vicinity of the notch. The domain wall resistance in this system is positive. The measured interface resistance per domain wall is 2.6× 10-16 Ω m2, and is almost independent of temperature.
