Abstract

The concept of multiplex computing is proposed to realize superchips free from interconnection problems. Parallel processing with ″multiplexable information carriers″ makes possible to construct large-scale highly parallel systems with reduced interconnections. Possible approaches to the implementation based on frequency-mode electronics, multiwave optoelectronics and bio-electronics are presented, and their advantages are discussed.
