Abstract

When the digital technique using a D/A converter is employed for iron loss measurements of electrical steels using single sheet testers with the H coil, iron losses are affected by the staircase output voltage waveform of the D/A converter. The effect of the staircase voltage on the accuracy of iron losses is examined quantitatively and two methods for reducing the effect are investigated.
