Abstract
The stability of the as-cast lamellar structure in the Ti-48Al, Ti-45Al-3Ga, Ti-45Al-2Nb-2Cr, Ti-46Al and Ti-46Al-1.0-Si alloys at 1150 and 1000 °C was studied. The coarsening was very marked in the case of the first three alloys at 1150 °C and the alloying additions of 3Ga and 2Nb+2Cr to the Ti-45Al alloy did not improve the thermal stability of primary lamellae, but impeded the growth of the coarsened grains. The 2Nb+2Cr additions to the Ti-45Al alloy were favorable to the thermal stability of primary lamellae at 1000 °C. The effect of the 1.0Si addition was even more excellent for the as-cast lamellar structure stability at high temperatures.
