Abstract
Hyperthermia is one of cancer therapies that necrotize tumor by heat. There are several types of hyperthermia corresponding to its way of heating. We have researched the Soft-Heating method, which uses heating elements composed of a thermosensitive magnetic material coated Au. These elements can generate heat effectively in high frequency magnetic field. Moreover, the temperature of the element does not rise higher than the Curie point of thermosensitive magnetic material because this material can’t concentrate magnetic flux at the Curie point or above. Therefore, we can conduct treatment without measuring the temperature inside the body. We have confirmed the inhibitory effect on a mouse tumor by Soft-Heating method. However, blood flow of the human body differs from that of a mouse so treatment can be incomplete. We report the results of numerical analysis on heating characteristics and effective layout of the elements considering blood flow of human.
