Abstract

The heavy-fermion compound CeRu2Si2 is a Pauli paramagnetic metal with a large electronic specific heat coefficient of γ to approximately 370 mJ/mol K2. Microwave cavity transmission experiments were performed to clarify the dynamic response caused by the dielectric function εω and the magnetic permeability μω in the compound. The anomaly for both εω and μω was observed at the metamagnetic field HM = 7.7 T below 1 K, whereas the B-T phase diagram provided by the dynamic response was found to be different for the static one.
