N2 - This paper presents an EM analysis for extracting a signature generation key from ECDSA hardware. In particular, we show a possibility of a horizontal side-channel attack using EM waves radiated from compact ECDSA hardware based on Jacobian projective coordinates. We also mention a possible countermeasure against the attack.
