Abstract

This paper reviews recent advances in terahertz (THz) emission from two-dimensional (2D) electron systems in semiconductor nano-heterostructures. The topics cover i) broadband THz emission from 2D plasmons in III-V heterojunction transistors and ii) amplified stimulated THz emission from fs-laser pumped graphene heterostructures.
