Abstract

The inclusion of quadratic response (QR) which significantly contributes to proton pairing in solid phase and reproduces experimental vibron frequencies very well was observed. Besides the short-range exchange attraction, the Friedel oscillations were cooperatively enhanced and helps stabilize the proton pairs, where the interpair interactions were essential for pairing. It was found that the physical nature of the pairing at high pressures and its relation to the physics of the dense electron gas seems to be very different from that at ambient pressure.
