Abstract

A new method for estimating the mass transport using the stochastic values (arithmetic mean, standard deviation and skewness) of permeability is presented. The calculated transport rates shows good agreement with the Peclet number and the dimensionless standard deviation when the discrete probability density function and the lognormal distribution have common values for the arithmetic mean, standard deviation and the skewness of permeability. Transport rates does not depend only on the arithmetic mean and standard deviation but also on the skewness of permeability.
