Evaluation of laser potentialities from concentration quenching analysis in Yb3+-doped cubic crystals

Abstract

We present an evaluation of laser potentialities of Yb3+-doped solid-state laser cubic crystals from concentration dependences of the 2F5/2 experimental decay time. We shall analyze few oxide and fluoride crystals of 4N (99.99) purity for commercialization. Experimental results will be related for two crystals: Yb +-doped YAG garnet and Yb3+-doped KY3F10 fluoride.Results can be extended today to laser ceramics of the same composition.
