Abstract
Experimental and numerical studies of the effect of heat loss and flame stretch on local burning velocities were performed for a stoichiometric CH4/air premixed flame at 0.1 MPa and 298 K. Measurements of local burning velocities were conducted for Bunsen flames stabilized on slot type nozzle burners by using a measuring technique which employs particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) and planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF). Numerical simulations for Bunsen flames were also performed by using FLUENT 6.2.16. Two kinds of boundary conditions, i.e., the adiabatic and isothermal wall conditions were tested, and their results were compared with experimental data in order to investigate the local effect of heat loss.
