Abstract

Side-channel attack is a serious threat that can retrieve the secret key by analyzing side channel information leakage from cryptographic devices. The analysis to extract the key is affected by quantization error in the measurement. We conducted measurements on correlation power analysis (CPA) by controlling the quantization resolution and the authors showed that the key extraction is difficult in the reduced resolution, and there is a limit to the extraction efficiency.
