Abstract
Friction coefficient for a wave-current combined motion is derived by using a two-layer eddy viscosity model based on the maximum shear stress. The results are compared with those deduced by a one-layer model. The measurements on the turbulent characteristics such as velocity profile, shear stress and distribution of eddy viscosity under oscillatory flows combined with unidirectional motions are performed in a wind tunnel. Experimental results are compared with the predicted values.
