Abstract

We report the F-18 FDG PET findings of a patient with primary carcinoma of the fallopian tube. A 65-year-old woman who was suspected to have an ovarian tumor with a history of breast cancer 5 years previously was referred to our hospital. FDG-PET demonstrated intense uptake in the left adnexa. The histopathologic findings obtained by adnexectomy revealed primary carcinoma of the fallopian tube. This case report, therefore, indicates that fallopian tube cancer should be considered in the differential diagnosis of adnexal lesions demonstrating intense FDG uptake.
