Abstract

Stabilization by cation substitution was examined for Al//2TiO//5-MgTi//2O//5-Fe//2TiO//5 and Al//2TiO//5-MgTi//2O//5-MgTiSiO//5-MgTiZrO//5. A ternary solid solution composed of 0. 8Al//2TiO//5-0. 1MgTi//2O//5-0. 1MgTiSiO//5 was satisfactory. High density bodies of Al//2TiO//5 solid solution were fabricated by sintering of active powder containing partially synthesized Al//2TiO//5 and also by hot pressing.
