Abstract

We have reported that honeycomb-patterned micro-porous films can be prepared by casting polymer solution under humid conditions and by using condensed water droplets as templates. Here, we report a preparation of honeycomb-patterned films having sub-micron sized pores. By shortening the solvent evaporation time, honeycomb-patterned films with pores less than 400nm were obtained. These films show the superhydrophobic properties. Furthermore, these films are transparent. From these results, we prepared transparent superhydrophobic films by simple casting a polymer solution under humid conditions.
