Abstract

In this study, we tried to create a polydimethyl -siloxane (PDMS) scaffold with controlled pore configurations to investigate the proliferation and differentiation of the cells seeded 3-dimensionally. The three-dimensional scaffold was designed to investigate the effect of mechanical stress to the cells by utilizing the intrinsic elasticity of the PDMS. We used a combination of casting mold and lamination process to fabricate PDMS scaffold with controlled pore configuration. The lamination of each PDMS layer resulted in a construct with three-directionally interconnected micropores (600x600 [μm in section) as a PDMS body.
