Abstract

We have reported that microporous thin films can be prepared by casting the solution of hydrophobic polymer and amphiphilic polymer on a substrate by using condensed water droplet arrays as templates. Moreover, the pillar structure was formed by simple peeling of the top-layer of microporous film with an adhesive tape. In this study, we show the preparation of metallic (e.g. silver) pillar structures by electroless plating. We prepared microporous films from polystyrene and amphiphilic polyacrylamide delivertive by casting their chloroform solution under humid conditions. And pillar structures were prepared by the peeling method. Silver was plated on to the Pt/Pd sputtered pillar structure by electroless plating. After plating, the surface structure and chemical compositions of film were determined by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), respectively.
