Fabrication of two-dimensional assembly of L10FePt nanoparticles

Abstract

A fabrication process of a monolayer assembly of FePt ordered particles without high-temperature treatments was developed. Monolayer particles were obtained using the island formation process of Volmer-Weber (V-W)-type introduced in the thermal treatment experiment. It was found that single crystal particles were formed with reduced amount of (100) variants using MgO(100) substrates.
