Abstract

Tunable femtosecond infrared pulses have been generated by mixing a 1.064-μm Nd:YAG laser pulse and a visible femtosecond pulse from a cavity dumped dye laser. The femtosecond amplification characteristics of an erbium-doped optical fiber amplifier are investigated.
