N2 - A series of bimetallic compounds of the general formula K[Mn(3-MeOsalen)]2[M(CN)6] (M = Co3+, Fe3+, Mn3+, Cr3+) has a similar 2-D network structure but their magnetic properties vary depending upon the nature of the metal ion of [M(CN)6]3- and the interlayer magnetic interaction. The magnetic property of K[Mn(3-MeOsalen)]2[Cr(CN)6]·H2O shows a ferrimagnetic nature arising from an intralayer ferrimagnetic ordering due to the antiferromagnetic spin arrangement of neighboring high spin Mn3+ and Cr3+, and an interlayer ferromagnetic interaction.
