Abstract

Polyelecctrolyte multilayer (PEM) films composed of poly (allylamine hydrochloride) and poly (potassium vinyl sulfate) were employed for improving the dynamic range of ascorbic acid sensors fabricated by coating the surface of a gold (Au) electrode with a ferrocene-containing film. The modified electrode can be used to determine ascorbic acid up to ca. 20 mM, while the upper detection limit of PEM film-free sensor was ca. 3 mM.
