Abstract

In the intake of Asaka Channel, which is located to the tip of the northeast part of Lake Inawasiro in the Fukushima Prefecture, it is a problem that the sediment accumulation is obvious in the recent years. In order to take a measure against the problem, sufficient understanding of the characteristics of the sediment transport along the lake shoreline is necessary. In this study, the process of the shoreline change around the mouth of the Nagase River, flowing into Lake Inawasiro and is located at updrift end of the sandy beach, is investigated based on aerial photographs and field measurement data. It clarifies the mechanism of sediment deposition problem in the intake channel.
