Abstract
The absorption of NO in aqueous solutions of Na//2SO//3 containing Fe**I**I(edta)**2** minus complex was carried out with an air lift percolator in order to clarify the effect of NO concentration, Fe**I**I-edta concentration, pH, and temperature on the formation of HON(SO//3)//2**2** minus in this system. The formation of HON(SO//3)//2**2** minus was predominantly dependent on the concentration of NO in a sparging gas, and a set of the conditions which realized a maximum yield of HON(SO//3)//2**2** minus was obtained as follows: pH of the solution, 7; temperature, 10-30 degree C; concentration of NO, less than 1500 ppm.
