Abstract

The formation of mesopores on the surface of a scaffold of α- tricalcium phosphate (TCP) porous bodies at different initial porosities due to the formation of octacalcium phosphate (OCP) by post-treatment with buffered solution was discussed. The increase in the pore surface area of CPxbs, due to the formation of mesopore, was about 300-600 times that of CPx. The coarse sphere consisting of aggregates of finer plate-like particles appeared in the specimens. Analysis shows that the character of acid protein serum bovine albumin (BSA) is improved accompanied with the formation of OCP and d-OCP.
