Abstract
Extension of the f. c. c. phase Fe-C is of interest because one can get Fe-rich f. c. c. alloys with a non-magnetic element in bulk form which would provide much information as to the magnetism and structure of f. c. c. Fe. The formation of the f. c. c. phase in binary Fe-C and pseudo-binary (Fe-M)//9//2C//8 alloys was investigated in detail.
