N2 - This paper reviews our recent results of the formation, fundamental properties and applications of Fe-based bulk glassy alloys containing Cr and/or Mo which have been obtained for the last six years. We have succeeded in producing bulk glassy alloys with high glassforming ability, high mechanical strength and high corrosion resistance in Fe-(Cr, Mo)-C-B system in 2002. The Fe-(Cr, Mo)-based bulk glassy alloys have already found some application fields by use of various characteristics largely exceeding those for conventional Fe-based alloys. These Fe-based bulk glassy alloys are promising as new metallic engineering materials.
