By employing a developed unsteady three-dimensional global model of heat transfer analysis, we conducted massive numerical simulations to investigate the effect of three-dimensionality and unsteadity on melt flow and global temperature distribution inside furnace. It is found that the unsteadity and three-dimensionality of melt flow play an important role and results in a great decrease of critical rotation Reynolds number at which crystal/melt interface reverses, which makes model results much close to the practical. In addition, this study reveals the existance and behavior of traveling wave in melt flow.
