Abstract

We report on de Haas-van Alphen effect measurements in the heavy fermion system CePd2Si2. Six different frequencies were observed in the basal plane with the corresponding effective masses from 6 to 23 m e. One frequency is split into two close satellites, which arise from the up and down spin bands, whose effective masses differ by a factor of 2. Wave-form analysis of the split frequencies indicates that the spin-splitting gives rise to an apparent anomalous field dependence of the effective mass.
