Abstract
The high temperature 31P NMR was measured up to 1300°C in a superconducting magnet for the recently developed Mg2+ ion conductors of the Mg0.7(Zr0.85Nb0.15)4 P6O24 solid solution, Mg1.4Zr4P6O24.4+0.4 Zr2O(PO4)2 composite and Mg1.1(Zr0.85Nb0.15)4 P6O24+0.4Zr2O(PO4)2 solid solution composite. Line widths of all the samples decreased as the temperature was raised and the longitudinal relaxation time T1 showed a minimum near 1000°C. The observed T1 minimum at high temperature can be well explained by the local field fluctuation on the 31P nucleus due to the fast jump motion of Mg2+ ions.
