Hydrogen storage propertes of Li-based complex hydrides

Hydrogen storage (desorption) properties of LiNH2 with/without partial cation substitutions were studied using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and gas-chroraatography methods. The results indicate that the hydrogen desorption reaction from LiNH2 starts around 550 K, and that of Li2NH from around 700 K, respectively, in heating process under 0.1 MPa argon. The starting temperature for the hydrogen desoprtion reaction is lowered by about 180 K by the partial cation substitution of Li by Mg.
