Abstract

69Ga NMR in the paramagnetic and antiferromagnetically ordered states has been measured in a single crystal sample of UGa3. The Knight shift K versus the static susceptibility χ: (K - χ) plot shows a drastic change of slope at the Nèel temperature TN = 67 K and the second transition of 40 K. These changes indicate that 5f orbital modifications are initiated at the transitions noted.
