Abstract

We perform a detailed study of the decays of the heavier τ slepton (τ + ̃2) and τ-sneutrino (ν + ̃τ) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We show that the decays into Higgs or gauge bosons, i.e. τ + ̃2- → τ + ̃1- + (h0,H0,A0 or Z0), τ + ̃2- → ν + ̃τ + (H- or W-), and ν + ̃τ → τ + ̃1- + (H+ or W+), can be very important due to the sizable τ Yukawa coupling and large mixing parameters of τ + ̃. Compared to the decays into fermions, such as τ + ̃2- → τ- + χ + ̃i0 and τ + ̃2- → ντ + χ + ̃j-, these bosonic decay modes can have significantly different decay distributions. This could have an important influence on the search for τ + ̃2 and ν + ̃τ and the determination of the MSSM parameters at future colliders.
