Implementation of the facilities integrity management model in the transportation vice presidency of Ecopetrol SA (VIT)

In order to complete the circle and cover all assets of transportation systems for hydrocarbons in the VIT (pipelines, process piping and tanks), since 2009 the coordination of integrity of pipelines and tanks of the VIT started the process of developing a management model of integrity to apply to facilities, especially the process piping. This paper shows the strategies and approach which was used by Ecopetrol to develop and implement the integrity management model in the pump stations and terminals of its transportation division (Vicepresidencia de Transporte - VIT); it also discusses the challenges and difficulties found, as well as the lessons learned throughout this process.
