Abstract
In most cases, steelmaking slag and hot metal dephosphorization slag are in a solid-liquid coexisting state containing dicalcium silicate as the solid phase. Dicalcium silicate plays an important role for dephosphorization, since phosphorus in liquid slag can be dissolved into this solid phase. In this paper, the following two studies are reported: (1) mineralogical observation of industrial slag and (2) fundamental experiments to clarify the enrichment rate of phosphorus from liquid slag to the dicalcium silicate phase. Based on the results, a method for utilizing dicalcium silicate in the dephosphorization reaction is discussed.
