Abstract

The nonuniform and anisotropic sintering shrinkage of two types of complex-shaped powder compacts prepared by metal injection molding was measured with the use of MR-DICM. The distribution of shrinkage in complex-shaped powder compacts of stainless steel was precisely determined at a room temperature of 1543 K. This demonstrates the advantage of MR-DICM over the conventional methods used for such applications.
