Abstract

Experimental results have revealed that behavior of the martensitic transition temperature in the Fe- and Co- containing Ni-Mn-Ga alloys can be satisfactory described in a function of the electron concentration e/a. The magnetic measurements have shown that addition of Fe or Co instead of Ni results in an increase of the Curie temperature Tc. This observation may serve as a basic foundation for the development of high-temperature ferromagnetic shape memory alloys of the Ni-Mn-Ga system.
