Abstract

The recent progress of pulsed high magnetic field technology has made possible the IR and FIR spectroscopy under very high magnetic fields in the megagauss range (>100T), which opens up various new possibilities. In this paper, we present the latest results of the IR and FIR magneto-spectroscopy of semiconductors in the megagauss range, in particular, spectroscopy of novel interesting materials with low mobilities such as p-diamond, SiC, and AlAs, cyclotron resonance in a band with a camel's back structure, and prominent polaron effects in II-VI compounds.
