Abstract
Excitation spectrum of the intrinsic luminescence and the X-ray fluorescence yield in KCl have been measured in the Cl 1s absorption region. The spectral features in the luminescence excitation spectrum in the vicinity of the Cl 1s edge are attributed to nonradiative destruction of electron-hole pairs by X-ray induced defects.
