Abstract

The Langmuir-Blodgett films were prepared using binary mixture of amphiphilic donors and amphiphilic acceptors. Strong intermolecular charge transfer took place in the mixed LB films of 2-hexadecyl-3-heptadecyl-6,7-dimetyltetrathiafulvalene (C16C17DMTTF) and 2-octadecyl-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (C18TCNQ). On the other hand, charge transfer associated with hydrogen bonding was observed in the mixed films of 2-octadecyl-5-methyl-1,4-dihydroxybenzene (C18HQ) and 2-octadecyl-5-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone (C18Q).
