Abstract
The lifetime of delocalized triplet-state positronium in α-SiO2 is settled to be 270ps by analyzing the magnetic field dependence of the intensities of the narrow positronium peaks in the angular correlation of positron annihilation radiation spectra. The lifetime component of 500ps, which is attributed to the positronium in previous reports, is not due to the delocalized positronium. A recently proposed interpretation of this component based on the assumption of the ortho-para conversion of the positronium is also dismissed.
