Lithium Storage in Ordered Mesoporous Carbon (CMK-3) with High Reversible Specific Energy Capacity and Good Cycling Performance

Abstract

A high specific energy capacity and cyclic performance for lithium (Li) storage in the ordered mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) were analyzed. The CMK-3 carbon was synthesized using ordered silica SBA-15 as a template. The morphology of CMK-3 carbon was investigated using x-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show a high specific energy capacity of about 1100 mAh/g for Li storage in CMK-3 carbon.
