Low temperature structures of (BEDT-TTF)3CuBr4

Abstract

Single crystal X-ray structure analyses and calculation of overlap integrals for (BEDT-TTF)3CuBr4 reveal an occurrence of structural trimerization among BEDT-TTF molecules below Tc = 60.2 K. A possible relation between this structural change and the magnetic susceptibility decrement below Tc is discussed.
