Abstract

A large single crystal of the singlet-ground-state compound TmSb was prepared by the Bridgeman method in a tungsten crucible. Electrical resistivity, magnetoresistivity, Hall effect, susceptibility and specific heat under magnetic field were measured in the temperature range 1.6 K ≤ T ≤ 300 K using samples cut from a large single crystal. Experimental results are discussed in terms of crystalline-electric field theory.
