Abstract

New conductive filler materials showing excellent orientation controllability and resin affinity are required in modern electronics. We previously reported that magnetic Ni-P hollow microfibers were successfully obtained by electroless plating on fibrous supramolecular template formed from azopyridine carboxylic acid. Across-linked PDMS polymer thin film having uniaxially oriented magnetic Ni-P hollow microfibers could be prepared by solidifying liquid PDMS and the ferromagnetic microfibers under a magnetic field. In this study, orientation behavior of the magnetic Ni-P microfibers depending on a magnitude of magnetic field was investigated in detail. It was found that a long axis of the magnetic Ni-P microfiber oriented parallel to a magnetic field under a magnetic field of 5.0 kOe.
